greetings from port orford, oregon

Hello everyone!
Just a quick note to let everyone know that we are doing GREAT and having
a lot of fun so far on our road trip!! Thanks to everyone for coming to our
wedding. We hope you had a great time! We certainly did!
We are currently at a nice little cafe in the random town on coastal
Oregon. It is amazingly beautiful here! the weather is completely perfect
and it's just unreal here! WE went on a nice long hike today long the Oregon
Coast Trail and found a bunch of chantrelle mushrooms and hedgehog
mushrooms, too. We are going to make a nice mushroom related dinner
(chantrelle brie basil pasta I think!!) We also munched on some of those
famous Oregon blackberries that we found on the trail.
We have gotten lots of comments on our “just married” rv and it's really
cute to hear people tell us about how they have been married for 47 years
and 40 years and they are so happy!
Yesterday we saw a gaggle of elks. They were really cool to see. The
binoculars helped a lot! We helped a little girl and her family see them and
they were really happy about it! We also hiked around in Trinidad, CA which
was really beautiful. There is a giant hill that we hiked up and saw the
corner of a lighthouse (which was supposedly the point), but the view was
spectacular!
We have seen at least 2 aliens so far. The first alien was this guy at
an RV park who yelled at Myriam for walking through “his lawn”. He then
proceeded to get out his STEAM CLEANER from his rv and steam clean his RV
runner rugs for at least 45 minutes. These rugs are about 2 feet X 8 feet.
He steam cleaned the rugs while his wife idly stood by watching. It was
quite an odd sight, and we got pictures! We saw another alien guy who
decided to detail his car with windex and all that at a trail head spot. We
were very confused!
We have decided to not have a destination for our trip. We want to
enjoy the drive up the coast and try to get a hike in everyday and try to
enjoy every minute!
The rv has been really great so far! We have plenty of space in it and
we have been cooking all of our meals in it so far! Last night we bought
some fresh white salmon from a fresh fish mart in Trinidad and Myriam cooked
it with pasta, veggies from our garden, peanut sauce from the wedding, and
some of that really great pinor noir that we got for our wedding. Myriam
served it to me on a bench at sunset overlooking the beautiful Oregon coast
(just north of Brookings, OR)
The fridge works great, and luna has made herself at home in the rv. She
has found a nice place to lay down right between our 2 seats.

Ok that's about it so far!!

with love!
